Chebara Conservation Run | 14th December 2024 🏃🏽‍♀️🌱

What a powerful day it was!

On December 14th, we gathered in the heart of the Cherangani ecosystem for the Chebara Conservation Run and what a turnout! From Moiben WRUA to the Chebara Dam communities and beyond, everyone showed up with heart, purpose, and powerful strides.

This wasn’t just a run. It was a statement — that conservation is not a distant concept, but a lived reality in our landscapes, our people, and our everyday choices. At the core of our restoration efforts lies one belief: community action must feel familiar, local, and alive. That’s why we continue to champion sports — particularly long-distance running,  as a key conservation tool.

Here in the North Rift, long-distance running is more than just a sport. It’s part of our heritage. This region has produced some of the world’s most celebrated athletes, and we’re channeling that same energy to protect our forests, rivers, and water towers.

We’re proud to have partnered in this event, and even prouder of the spirit we witnessed on the ground. The unity. The sweat. The joy. The commitment.

To every runner, every cheerleader, every youth, elder, and organizer — thank you. Here’s to many more strides for nature, for community, and for our shared future. 🌍💚
